I'm not sure anyone ever fully reaches spiritual maturity, but it is certainly something we should strive to achieve, especially if we are going to call ourselves "Christian."

And while I am still working on becoming what God would consider spiritually mature—and trust me, I have a long way to go—that doesn't stop me from talking to my kids about these principles and attempting to model them in my behavior.

Through this process, I've managed to identify what I think are common marks of maturity. It's not an exhaustive list by any means, but a good starting point for anyone wanting to get pointed in the right direction. Hopefully, sharing them here will serve helpful as you strive to lead yourself and your family well.

Tune in next week as I unpack the rest of my list in part 2 of Marks of Maturity.
